WE OPENED IN 2000 TO FILL GAPS IN HEALTH CARE

The Community Health Center began as a First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach ministry on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000. Our founders saw the need in the community for healthcare and decided to start a ministry that would help the uninsured and underinsured people in the community obtain badly needed healthcare.

CHC moved from the First Baptist Church campus to Australian Avenue (2008 – 2012), after Hurricane Wilma struck in 2005 destroying our building. In spite of the obstacles, limited volunteers and staff, the organization remained resilient and continued to serve the community by providing access to quality comprehensive healthcare. In 2013, the Community Health Center moved to our current location at 2100 45th Street in West Palm Beach, which is a 3,100 square foot facility.

The Community Health Center has proudly served since 2000 those who are without means of attaining adequate health care, and who currently fall through the gaps in our health care system: the homeless, single parents, seniors, undocumented, and working poor families living in Palm Beach County.
